There are 80 homes in a subdivision. A realtor tells you that 50 of the homes have vinyl siding, 20 of the homes have automatic sprinkler systems, and 15 of the homes have both.

Well points (2) are 16 feet down — about 8 feet apart. One year old. mostly for lawn sprinkler system and hand-held hose for flower gardens and vegetable gardens.
How do we solve color problem, which we believe is from hgh iron content in water?
Considering water softener, but not sure if it’s cost effective. Town water is very expensive.
Or maybe there’s a simple way to periodically clean 100 feet of fence both sides?

Sounds like high iron. sometimes an iron pocket will come out years after you’ve had the well put in. I think if you checked your local hardware store they sell a cleaner now specifically for vinyl cleaning ie; siding,fencing ,anything vinyl.

I would think that a man made material would work better, the wood has a tendency to rot much faster than some of the new composite vinyl products.

I would try CLR its a cleaner you can get at your local hardware store maybe scrub it with a scotch brite pad.
