I would like to buy some dark purple fall Mums, already potted and would like to plant them in front of my house, it’s a small rock-covered garden. Any special instructions? I know about the watering schedule, fertilizer, pinching the stems back in July. My location is eastern Missouri

No reason you cant as long as you can find a place to put them around the rocks. You should check locally and see if they will survive the winter in your area.

Try a chicken wire cage around all your vegetables. This may not be feasible though, depending on the size of your garden.

Donna’s Square Foot Garden – Indoor Seed Sprouting and Garden Update

I quick look at what is growing! I also show how I sprout seeds indoors. This is ok to do with some veggies, but others are very picky about moving after they start a root (like carrots). Beans and peas seem to do OK with indoor sprouting, as long as you move them early (before they get their true leaves.

Is it possible to over-fertilize a vegetable garden?
Question by mike v: Is it possible to over-fertilize a vegetable garden?
I admit, I didn’t read the packaging and I feel that was a mistake. I spread generous amounts of organic fertilizer over my vegetable garden before the seeds germinated. I’ve noticed plants have sprouted in areas of less-thick fertilizer. I wonder if the other seeds just haven’t come up through the thickness or could the organic fertilizer have killed the seeds.

What type of light bulb should I buy/use for my indoor garden?
Question by shanaelledeleveign: What type of light bulb should I buy/use for my indoor garden?
I’m growing a little container herb garden in my bedroom, but it doesn’t get enough light during the day. I want to buy a light bulb or a really cheap lamp (as in under $ 25 if possible) I can use instead of buying the really expensive ones I’ve seen on the internet. What type of light bulb should I buy? Where can I buy them? How much are they going to cost?

You should be able to get one of the clamp lights for just a few bucks. You can use a florescent light if it says natural light. Or a regular light that says grow light.
