I wrote this song about a girl who I liked, until she came over to the house and totally ignored my Mama. All those “DREAMS” of us walking on the beach, gazing at the stars, feeding the homeless together, planting our very own rose bushes, watching 24 together, sharing the same shake, playing my Guitar Hero, texting on my sisters phone, giving you my favorite Ruffles potato chips, looking straight at you after making those 3 free-throws in a row to win the game by 1 point, picking up your books even though I knew you dropped them on purpose, sitting under a full moon, being there when you walk across stage at Graduation from Heritage, then to San Luis Obisbo College, and watching you fall asleep on the school bus, covering for you when you accidentally fart a little too loud, and when it smells really bad, cheering me on as I accept my 1st Grammy, helping you with your homework, sticking up for you when my sisters want to beat you up (cause they will), teaching you how to wakeboard, writing your talks in church, holding your hand in a scary movie, watching me win my 2nd Grammy, lifting your veil to kiss you after he say’s “you may now kiss the bride”, having breakfast in bed, expecting our first child, and then another, and another, and then the twins, and then another, helping you lose the baby fat, and then another set of twins, and then another, clipping roses in the garden together, painting the baby room cause we’re expecting yet another, watching me accept my 3rd …
