The Bill Clinton Smoothie?

How President Bill Clinton reversed his own Heart Disease using only Natural foods with a life style change?

The Answer to this can be found here.

What is a Plant Based Diet?
This question gets asked a lot ,and many people have different ideas of what a plant based diet is and so I intend to find out for myself what its really all about.
A good place to look for answers is wikipedia , so I went there to see what this online dictionary had to say , and the answers may surprise you?

According to Wikipedia a Plant Based Diet can mean different things to different people.
Here are the examples of a plant based diet.

Seven variations are mentioned ,but if you combine and mix them with your cultural cuisine then you could potentially have dozens of variables.

These are the seven listed:

HERBIVORE: can be any mammal or human that adapts to eating plants and not meat of any kind.

VEGANISM: Is the ultimate 100 percent plant based diet ,with absolutely no food from animal sources including the bee product honey. How ever probiotic bacterial cultures are generally accepted.

FRUITARIANISM: Is very similar to Veganism , where the meals consist of primarily fruit and their seeds.

RAW VEGANISM: Is a type of Veganism, but with food uncooked in their RAW state with life giving Enzymes , and water soluble vitamins like vitamin C in-tacked and ready for available digestion of the nutrients. Some of their raw food preparations may be dehydrated at very low temperatures that may take hours to prepare to preserve the enzymes of the food. Raw fermented foods are also used.

VEGETARIANISM: Is a plant based diet that may include eggs, milk and cheese.
One important note on Vegetarianism: Many commercially processed foods are labeled as vegetarian as the Processed Food Giants know that this is a huge and growing niche consumer market place for them.

MACROBIOTIC DIET: Macrobiotic cuisine originated in japan ,then expanded world wide .
This diet is plant based and uses all whole foods from nature including vegetables, fruits, legumes, seeds, fermented soy products, sea vegetables, mushrooms, bancha green tea, and other herbs with occasional sea food mostly fish.

SEMI-VEGETARIANISM: Is a plant based diet with occasional meat products from land and the sea.
Resources: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant-based_diet

If you could label your self what would you be?

For myself I would say that I am a combination of some of the above and I practice the following from the most practiced to the least practiced in this order.
Raw Veganism ,Veganism,Fruitarianism ,(Often I eat only fruit at a sitting)
Macrobiotic diet,( I live in South East Asia and use local organically grown and wild crafted produce in season as much as possible with a Thai flavor) I am also a Sproutarian. A process of adding air oxygen and pure water in darkness to germinate seeds , nuts, and grains. This process will Alkalize , and increase the bio available nutrients for my body, and gives me the opportunity to save the seeds for my garden.

I practice Vegetarianism the least . Wild same day seafood from my local Sea Gypsy village. I include on occasion , a free range organic duck or hen egg. Some times on occasion a free range duck or hen that is found in my village. Maybe on occasion some raw organic goat milk that I make cultured Kefir from.
Note that I boycott most all man made processed foods , I look for real food that only nature can provide.
I do not smoke , and I do not take any Pharmaceutical Drugs , including over the counter prescriptions.
I do on occasion drink Organic Red Wine with a meal that includes a small portion of cooked meat with lots of raw vegetables with steamed and cultured foods.
When you prepare your meals at home you are in control of your diet . When you eat out you are out of control of your diet.

For Bill Clinton what kind of Plant Based Diet diet would he be on? The answer will surprise you.

The best choice to have , is to eat foods loaded with life sustaining enzymes like RAW LEAFY GREENS, FRUITS,VEGETABLES,SPROUTED GRAINS,NUTS,SEEDS,HERBS,and Sea vegetables, with the following foods for your Vegetarian Plant Based Diet Plan.

Steamed , baked, or pan fried small cold water fish, such as Wild Seafoods of ,Salmon,Tuna,Mackerel, Sardines, and smaller Tuna directly from the wild , and never from the farm.
Farm raised fish , are penned in and their movement is controlled in close proximity to each other causing stress and disease. Routinely the Fish farms will dose the water with a chemical bath ,including antibiotic treatments. This high protein and essential vitamin B-12 source will also provide essential bioavailable, Omega 3 fatty Acids that the body needs. But many people will think about all the Mercury ,that we hear about all the time from the media. The fact is a person will have much more Mercury in their mouth than a fish would have in their bodies ,if the persons mouth is full of dental mercury amalgam fillings that is getting a lot of press lately.
I recommend to find a good Environmental Dentist and have the toxic fillings removed.
To reduce or even eliminate your exposure to Mercury stay away from large predatory fish like sharks, swordfish ,Large Tuna, and other large predatory seafood species as the mercury load will be much greater.
A good tip to reduce or eliminate Mercury or any heavy metal from consuming fish is to drink Green Tea with the meal. Yes its true .Studies have proven that drinking Green tea with fish creates a chelation effect that only green tea can do, as black tea does not work as well according to the studies. The reduction of mercury can be as high as 95 percent in some of the results. Eat sparingly and in small portions.
If the ducks, chickens, and their eggs are grass and grained fed organically and open range then this food may be considered in your diet. Eat sparingly and in small portions.
Dairy that is grass feed ,organic, and cultured naturally, is good in moderation and sparingly.
Many people may think ,how can I eat this way it looks bland, boring, not tasty, and to difficult to make? This kind of thinking is far from the truth , as many large groups of people today living on planet Earth are eating exactly this way every day of their lives and living happy and healthy to a ripe mature age.

These five groups of people are from, the island of Sardinia Italy, Lorma Linda California,Okinawa Japan,Nicoya,Costa Rica, and the island of Ikaria Greece referred to as the 5 Blues Zones of the world.
The explorer Dan Buettner, worked with the National Geographic Society, in 2004 to identify and research the longest living human beings, on Earth. These sociable ,happy people lived close to Nature and Spirit, with a strong sense of purpose in life. Many of them lived on into their Hundredth Birthday and beyond. Dan Buettner named these five longevity locations the Blue Zones.
In fact today it really is easy to learn to eat this way with all the Food Website information on line these days.Plus with You Tube recipe videos on line ,plus all the books on Raw Plant based dieting out there its easy to find the information you are looking for these days . I live a Plant Based mostly raw diet every day for years now with no problem what so ever , and you can do it to, if you want to ?

To go from the SAD diet, (Standard American Diet )like I did, you would have to slowly transition over into it and I will explain why and in much more detail in another article because, for most people living in the modern world it will not be so easy in the beginning . Some people may fail their first time around especially if they go into it fast and abruptly. They may only succeed the second or third time around . This can happen for a host of different reasons. But for those who have succeeded in the transition over to a plant based diet with lots of living foods will know how they felt then and how they feel today over time.

Their taste buds have changed ,among many other things over time and when they do cheat and go back to their old ways of dieting its not the same as before. Trust me on this one. After eating for years Natures Plant based foods of Natures natural sugars and continuing to do so to this day,I can only give you one incident that under unusual circumstances of myself eating into a sugary processed cookie . It only confirmed the fact in my mind and to my taste buds as well, that there is no longer any appeal anymore to my appetite or even to my palate and taste buds to even want to entertain the idea of going back to consuming processed commercial foods again that is lacking in fiber and real taste that Nature intended.

Ingredients and Method to the Bill Clinton Smoothie:

Bill loves almond milk,in the morning with some fruit and protein powder ,so what kind of smoothie would Bill make in the morning? Or if I was to make a smoothie for Bill Clinton what would it look like, and how would it taste?
I can let Bill decide ?

The Bill Clinton Smoothie Ingredients: Plus Nutritional information in (brackets) showing the highest prominent nutrients for that particular food. Also I am including some of my comments for these important foods through out as well.

Normally many Smoothie enthusiasts like to use bananas for fruit but in this case I would like to make something more special for Bill.

Fruits: One whole organic apple has ( Pectin fiber,Malic Acid, a good source for Vitamin C
( Vitamin C Vitamin K and B-6. Minerals include Calcium,Iron,Magnesium,Phosphorus,High in Potassium, with Copper and Manganese.)
Note that with all fruits and vegetables the nutrients are densely concentrated more towards the skin and on the skins themselves so this is another reason to eat organically, for ultimate nutrition plus the dietary fiber of the skins will help with your transit time ,and help feed the friendly probiotic bacteria in your digestive tract.I also recommend consuming any edible seed from organic produce or save them for growing in your garden which is what I do.

4 plump Dates : Dates is Natures Sweetness for any recipe. All I can say is why in the world would any body need the empty calories and simple carbohydrates like processed white sugar when NATURE provides all the complex carbohydrates that includes dietary fiber , and vitamins and minerals that are missing in the white granulated processed sugar products ? Dates and other naturally sweet foods eaten in moderation can easily ween a person off the addictions of the processed food industries with support from a Natural Path ND, or people close enough to you that you know already that have already kicked the habit can help you only if you want it? Simple processed sugars are one of the biggest contributors to Obesity, Malnutrition, Blood Sugar Spikes, Diabetes, Candida , Tooth decay, and Chronic Illnesses .
Why do I know this? Because more than 2 decades ago I was addicted to processed sugary foods and my weight ballooned to extreme measures , and when I was tested and diagnosed with a barge of weight related diseases and given grim outlooks from my Doctors with no real natural remedy or plan to reverse my condition .I took it upon myself to find Doctors like Bill Clinton did to find out the Truth and to implement a safe and natural protocol to lose my excess weight naturally . And then to my amazement ,after some time mind you, all the chronic symptoms that I was experiencing just went away and never returned after losing half my body weight. I am not alone , and many people out there have went through the ordeal, and have experienced the same thing so its nothing new.But I wish more people would find the way to make the transition over like Bill Clinton did, and this is why I am writing this article I want to give you inspiration and encouragement.
If I can do it, and Bill can do it , and other people in the same situation can do it ,then you can do it as well.

The Date is a fruit that grows on palm trees in tropical countries around the world. You will be surprised how nutritious dates are from the following findings. Dates of course are very high in dietary fiber and natural absorbent that helps the transit time in your intestinal tract and preventative protection against colon cancer. Dates contain flavonoids , antioxidants, and tannins that have anti inflammation, and anti microbial properties that protect the internal environment of your body. A good source of Vitamin A ,Beta -Carotene , a good source of the mineral Iron ,to support the hemoglobin production in your blood, and is high in the mineral Potassium that has a protective effect against heart disease. The date contains Calcium and Magnesium for your good bone health. For Vitamins dates are high in K , that helps with your bones, and the B complex vitamins that help to regulate your metabolism. All this and more from a date. You can find out more information on the health benefits of dates by visiting the Resources :
Just one cup of fresh squeezed orange juice supplies more than 200 percent of your daily requirements of vitamin C. It is very important to freshly squeeze the oranges for the living enzymes and flavonoids that only you can get from fresh squeezed , over the carton of store bought boiled devitalized dead products that are passed off as real orange juice.
Vitamin C is essential to our health meaning our body can not make it inside on its own like other animals can so we need to replenish every day with high Vitamin C rich foods like Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice. Some good informative resources from fit day for you’re reading.

24 sprouted whole almonds ( Sprouted Almonds are high in protein, and rich in dietary fiber, and rich in mono-unsaturated fatty acids that support the good health of your heart. Almond Is rich in Vitamin E, and are non gluten that makes them perfect for people that have gluten intolerance or Celiac disease. Almonds are rich in the vitamin B-complex that work with enzymes and cofactors to assist in the metabolism of foods . Very rich in the minerals ,manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and the trace mineral selenium.
Sprouting almond is nutritionally important because you release the enzyme inhibitors, and you increase the oil content , with increased omega fatty acids and the almond just tastes better like believe it or not like chocolate or a savory cross between chocolate and cinnamon.
Let them dry out first in a towel to absorb the moister, then on a plate to air dry. Store them in air tight glass jars in the refrigerator. They will keep for days this way up to a week. Make them in small batches for freshness.
Note that for all seeds its healthier to grind them first in a milling machine that comes with all good blenders. The whole seed for many people especially older people with less hydrochloric
stomach acids can pass many of the seeds undigested and therefore nutrients are unabsorbed by the body so its best to mill the seed first in quantities that you plan to use for the recipe. Also sprouting the seeds will take care of this problem of digestion and nutritional assimilation as well.
Black and White Sesame seeds are part of my main diet and are packed with nutrition. Notably Sesame is very high in the minerals Calcium and Magnesium that work together to help to build strong bones and to regulate the heart muscle. This food is also very high in vitamins B-15 and 17 as well. In my opinion sesame is one of the most neglected foods in western cuisine. The famous health food Humus uses a lot of white sesame paste called Tahini that was created originally from the middle east.
I consider Sesame Seed to be one of the Super Foods in my diet plan.
One teaspoon of White Sesame Seed:(Vitamins A,high in Thiamin B-1, riboflavin B-2, Niacin B-3 & B-6, has Vitamin E and is high in Folate. The pollen originated in all the flowers and the honey bees cross pollinate each flower collecting the protein granules as food for the hives inhabitants.
Bee Pollen is reputed to be a Longevity Food, and this food is on my list as a Super Food in my diet plan. Bee Pollen has 22 amino acids at 40% Protein with complex carbohydrates ,and unsaturated fatty acids rounding out this mature made multivitamin. Bee Pollen contains the following Vitamins such as (A,the B complex, C,D and E. Rich in minerals including,Calcium,Phosphorus,Iron,Copper,Iodine,Zinc,Sulfur,Sodium,Chlorine,Magnesium,
Manganese,Molybdenum,Selenium,Boron,Silica,and Titanium. )

Just think about this for a second? What food do you know has all this natural nutrition from one source only like this? I have no need for man made synthetic supplements when nature provides whole food nutrition like this. The only word of caution is for any person that may be allergic to bee venom. In this case it is all ways wise to start off with just a little bit and to wait for any possible negative allergy. For myself I use bee pollen liberally in many of my foods with no problems what so ever. I store the pollen in glass jars in my freezer and this keeps for months just like saving seeds would. Today there is concern about some areas of the world experiencing bee colonies collapsing and it has gotten so serious that in certain parts of China the farmers pollinate their flowers by hand because there are no more bees to do the job. Even today many farmers in the USA must hire bee keepers to load their hives onto trucks to take the bees into the crop lands for pollination. With out Bees it is estimated that we would lose at least 60% of our food supply. A lot of finger pointing is going on, and many groups suspect that the over use of pesticides is killing off many of our honey bee populations.
I know for certain that if I used agricultural chemicals in my organic garden, my own honey bees would not stay around very long. This applies to butterfly’s, amphibians, reptiles, birds and earthworms as well.

Cinnamon is a very ancient spice collected from the cinnamon tree and is sold as powder and sticks that I use in many of my recipes. This is another very powerful super food in my good health regime and for good reason. Cinnamon is Natures preservative with anti microbial activity, that can keep foods longer in storage and it works great with raw honey ,not to mention the wonderful savory taste when the two are mixed together. Health benefits of cinnamon are many, such as the spices ability to help diabetics with normalizing blood sugar. Minerals include (Calcium , Iron and is very high in the trace mineral Manganese.) Manganese is a super antioxidant that helps to build strong bones, and is important for the function of our brain and our bodies nervous system.I enjoy cinnamon almost every day in my tea, smoothies, deserts, sprouted granola, and fruit salads . In the Bill Clinton Smoothie photo I show a naturally hollowed out useful cinnamon stir stick that can also be used for many liquid beverages as a natural straw.

5 capsules of Green Spirulina Powder (Complete protein high in chlorophyl , with vitamins and minerals
Resources: WHFoods Worlds Healthiest Foods www.buzzle.com/articles/bee-pollen-health-benefits.html

SPIRULINA powder is a must for any high plant protein formula. Hawaii and Thailand among other places around the world grow this blue green algae in remote areas of the country in a lake that has high alkalinity. All 8 essential amino acids are in Spirulina making it weight for weight higher in protein than meat and soya. The suns photosynthesis helps to give Spirulina its
rich blue green chlorophyl color, and has an abundance of bioavailable organic minerals that gets readily assimilated into the bodies cells. Rich in the vitamins , (B-6, Biotin,B-12 containing an amazing 250 percent more than beef liver,- the anti stress vitamin Pantothenic Acid, Folic Acid, that supports the formation of the red blood cells hemoglobin,Inositol,Niacin
Spirulina is rich in the minerals,Calcium,Phosphorus and Magnesium.)The mineral content is comparable to milk , but I wish to put to rest the one big difference between the two. For years we where to believe through payed advertizing campaigns from the Dairy industry that milk is High in calcium and therefore is good for bone health. But what they never told us is that Milk is very low or even non existent for the essential mineral Magnesium. Calcium by itself cannot be assimilated into the bones with out the mineral Magnesium ,they bind together in a synergy
effect to help build strong bones. In fact all Calcium supplements today are supported with the mineral Magnesium and the typical standard American diet is woefully deficient in the mineral Magnesium. The best sources for these 2 essential minerals is not from the supplement industry
that sells non-plant sources of inorganic mineral salts ,but instead your best source would be directly from the plant kingdom , as organic dark green vegetables would supply. All dark green leafy vegetables including all sea weeds are very high in the organic minerals calcium and magnesium that your body can use for strong bone health.
SPIRULINA is an ancient food and is the oldest recorded plant food source on Planet Earth.

SEA VEGETABLES ,OCEAN VEGETABLES OR SEA WEED is a Nutritional must for any diet and the health benefits are many.Personally I eat seaweeds of every kind almost every day because I know of the health benefits and what this incredible superfood can do for my body. It is amazing how sea weed can be used in so many different recipes and you don’t even know that it is there, like in my smoothies, puddings, dips, sauces, soups, and YES deserts as well. Sea weed has trace minerals that land based crops are lacking in so my recommendation to start with for any diet or health and fitness program is to include the nutritional powerhouse of Planet Earths gift from Nature to YOU and that would be SEAWEED.I will be honest about this to you.If I start listing all the health benefits and all the trace Vitamins and Minerals that I know of in seaweed then it would start reading like a long grocery list that would take up pages and pages of this writing and I wont do that. For a comprehensive breakdown on Seaweeds Nutritional Facts .

Note that the mineral Calcium to Magnesium ratio is about equal making seaweed an excellent choice for bone health and overall support for optimal vibrant health .Even though seaweed is relatively high in sodium it should not be a concern as we need sodium and iodine in our body for good health. Just replace your processed iodized table salt with more seaweed and you will be doing your body much good.
Did you know that organic farming practices routinely use seaweed to amend the top soil for the simple reason that the trace minerals are missing often in todays mono cropping agriculture.
We have many choices of seaweeds to chose from and I recommend eating all the varieties as much as you can. The different varieties of seaweeds are many but here is just a few edibles included such as , Nori,Bull Kelp,Macro Kelp Kombu,Dulse,Wakame,Arame,Sea Lettuce,Hijiki,Bladderwrack, and Alaria.
Seaweed has been eaten by cultures around the world for centuries, and I eat fresh seaweed from the Thai Sea Gypsy Village near our home n Phuket Thailand. For Bill Clintons Smoothie I used Nori Sheets of Seaweed.
Moving your body does not have to feel like exercise !It can be anything you want it to be.
You may be surprised that it does not have to be a Gym Membership to lose weight and to stay healthy.
In fact many people live a long life in health and good spirits just doing the things they love to do by moving their body every day and they even have fun doing it.

Introduction of the Photo for Weight Loss ,Diet, Good Health and Skin Care:

In the photo are just of the few ways that I enjoy moving my body , and for others it could be entirely something else. The only thing that really matters is that you make moving your body a life time commitment to your life style, and you enjoy it and even include friends and family to join in whenever possible. Some people like to exercise and weight train inside a gym and that is good also , and others prefer to exercise out side in fresh air or do both.

Health Benefits of pure Aloe Vera:

I do both ,but mostly out side to connect with Nature , to oxygenate my lungs, and to get the vitamin sunshine D into my body through my skin. I know a lot of people out there may be thinking well, what about Skin Cancer with all that sun ? Well, the TRUTH is people that eat right with natural high antioxidant raw plant based fresh foods of Fruits ,Vegetables , Sprouts, Herbs, and are hydrated with enough pure clean water every day ,will have protection from with in.
My own skin after living more than 15 years in hot tropical Phuket Thailand near the equator does not burn so easily and I really can say never ,even though I do spend long hours in the sun at times.I can remember often that my skin would burn and peal when I was much younger living further north in Canada on a typical SAD diet (Standard American Diet) including cooked meats ,dairy, processed foods ,restaurant ,confectionaries and fast food convenient outlets .
Even my younger brother named Dan who is on a high RAW plant based high antioxidant diet himself for over 2 decades now notices the protective change of his skin, never experiencing sun burn and skin pealing ,when he has visited Phuket 6 months of the year for the last 6 years. Is this just a coincidence ? Or is there more to this story? Studies show that almost all skin creams actually reduce or block out the absorption of essential vitamin D which is actually a hormone, and is stored in the liver to help regulate our hormones and research out of Canada is suggesting the Vitamin D has protective factors against all kinds of Cancers. The further north or south you live from the Earths Equator the more sunshine exposure you need for your Vitamin D.

For example if I know that I will be on my mountain bike for several hours on a warm sunny day,I will cover my exposed body parts , with pure Aloe Vera Gel that I grow in my garden.Aloe is easy to grow ,as one plant will replicate itself over time with new stalks and they love the sun and do not need much water. Aloe is proven to be a potent medicinal plant ,and even the Thai Spas ,Massage Parlors and Skin Clinics on Phuket Island use fresh Aloe Vera gel to treat tourists and locals with sunburn damage on their skin.
To my thinking ,that is putting the cart before the horse, and is being used as a costly treatment ,and not used as prevention. It is not uncommon ,that I will take Aloe Vera internally , by adding some of the clear gel, to my smoothies, and even to some of my home made medicinal herbal dressings for salads and toppings. I am not kidding about this. In my Gourmet experience ,Aloe Vera Gel can be used in many different recipes that I never seen implemented in other spa type culinary eateries.
Of course with any medicinal herb or plant ,it is wise and necessary to rotate the plants in the diet and to take dietary days off before resumption. Our skin is permeable meaning that nutrients good and bad ,are readily absorbed through the membrane pores, and also our internal body toxins are excreted out through the process of sweating .We know today that aloe vera is used in many products such as moisturizers, shampoo ,conditioners ,human and even our pet products. The Skin our largest body organ ,next to our Liver is one of the most in my opinion , neglected and most misunderstood organ on our human body.
Include Aloe Vera in your life for better health and wellness.

Fare skinned people need less exposure to Vitamin D sunshine and darker skinned people need more of it. If I know that I will be outside in the sun for long extended periods of time I use common sense and prudence to protect my skin . Early morning and late afternoons are good times for moving your body, and I am covered with clothing when I stay out for longer extended times in the sun. Always hydrate your body with water and more water as you increase the time and endurance of your sports, garden and recreational activity.

I am walking my Dog named Lucky in Land & House Park green development area near my home. Often I take this opportunity to give commands to my dog ,with awards of praise and the odd treat. My dog walks by my side and is never allowed to pull on the leash in front of me.
Often my dog is my interval jogging partner as well .

The photo at the bottom right is me working in my garden lifting rocks to make a raised bed of soil. Moving soil and rocks around is a good work out in itself.

Why Eat a Plant Based Diet for Longevity?
Written by Barry Gourmet & Raw © Copyright September 11, 2011

A plant based diet,as organic as much as possible is the diet of many people living more than 100 years of age today in certain places around the world .With documented cases of Longevity
These groups of people ,studied by the National Geographic Society ,backed by pure science has proven that people that live on a plant based diet , with a great percentage of Raw Greens included ,lived well and lived long. They some times ate a bit of fish, an egg , maybe a free range duck or hen running around , but mostly vegetables and fruits in that order.
They included in their diets sea vegetables (seaweeds) Legumes ,nuts and seeds, as well.
Some raw fermented probiotic foods as well and on occasion some natural alcohol beverage.
They have no need for Vitamin and Mineral supplements sold on the internet or in retail stores, and they have no need to join up with Gym Memberships either. They move their bodies out side in the fresh air,in the most natural way, by gardening, walking, riding a bike, swimming in the sea, chopping wood, using their own body weight for exercise and so forth. They are close to their community and family and have purpose in their life with their faith. It really cannot get any more simple than this. So what happened to our modern day society that has people over weight by 2 to 3 and in many cases one-third of the population is clinically obese? How can we move away from simple carbohydrates ,conventional dairy and much less meat consumption, and commercially processed foods of every kind? How can we move towards Whole Food Plant Based Dieting ?How can we start moving our bodies every day for the rest of our lives? How can we become more active socially in our community and to slow down and to find more purpose in our lives? If we can do all of the above ,then things will change around for us and we can become more happier and healthy.

“Natures Nutrition, with a primarily Raw Whole Foods Plant Based Rotating Diet, and Moving your body in fresh air and sunshine with enough quality sleep every day is the key and secret to great Health, Longevity, and Happiness. It really dose not get that much more simple.”

“If we all abruptly, ate Plant Foods from Nature only on a Global Scale? Would the World Stock Market Crash?”

Barry Gourmet & Raw

Why we Must Move Our Body?

Scheduling time in your daily life to move your body is so important especially today in our modern world because ,we live in a society of convenience and everything is done for us.
Genetically, Historically, and Biologically, our body was not built to live this way . In fact the industrial revolution with all the good things that cam out of it , also made everything else easier for us and has replaced intensive physical labor with a more practical, and commercial means of doing business which is good for business but in some cases not good for our bodies.
When we stop moving our body for long periods of time like long continuous hours at a computer,or living the life of a couch potato absorbed with TV and comfort food things start to happen over time.
Things start to happen with long hours sitting on an overseas trip by Airplane, with long road trips by ,Bus,Train,Truck,Car ,or Van. A large internal section of your body inside, called the Lymphatic System starts to shut down. When this happens, it causes circulatory stress ,with symptoms of discomfort, and your whole immune system becomes compromised, plus your metabolism slows down and becomes sluggish and constipated.

Unlike your Heart that Beats continuously 24/7 ,your Lymph can only function properly when you move your body on a regular basis with as much time that you can schedule in to your busy life. Our Lymph nodes are like a mass of meridians spread through out our body and their function is to remove waste and dead over used cells out of our body to protect and help us to survive against the toxins that enter our body every day around the clock.
When we eat, a Nature made Breakfast like the one in one of my other photos, puts less toxins into our body to help our Liver and Lymph to function better with exercise or just by moving your body.

Think about what happens to people that are bed ridden in hospitals and nursing homes? Their Lymph System shuts down from lack of movement, and then one thing leads to another without any outside fresh air and Vitamin D sunshine topped with denatured cooked meals, lacking in life giving Enzymes can all add up and if continued can present problems later on.
Try to hold any kind of pose ,and see how long you can last, how long can you sustain that pose? We are designed to Move are body constantly. Even in our sleep our body randomly moves through out the night more or less.
Even writing this article on my iMac at any extended period of time will demand my attention to stop work and to get up and move around for a while until I am ready to work again. After this rest and light movement of my body I can continue with my work at the computer knowing that I have my lymph moving again. It is important to listen to your body signals and symptoms and to make corrections for your health.Eating right like the Breakfast with Barry Gourmet & Raw photo above without moving your body will only over time make your body less efficient in metabolism. Your nutrients from food with more calories coming in and less calories being burned off could promote weight gain.

Ways that Barry Gourmet & Raw Moves his body?

First and foremost the important thing is not to be concerned too much about what other people are doing , and how much money you intend to spend at a Gym or Sports Equipment. The important thing is to make a mindful commitment and actually implement your body movement plan that makes you the most happiest .

Yes, that is right, just do what you like to do and that can be anything. Examples could be Gardening,Dancing,Walking, Jogging, Stretching,Hiking in Nature,Playing on the Monkey Bars in the park,Riding a Bike, Swimming, walking your dog, using your car less,Yoga, using the stairs instead of the Elevator ,and any other way that you find enjoyable for moving your body?

For my self the following is the way I get the most enjoyable experience for moving my body.

Cardio Interval Training with my Mountain Bike and my land leg exercises. Our body was not designed to do a long extended time of isolated repetitive training. This is why many athletes work on all their body parts to create endurance and strength for the whole body and not just one part of their body. Like a good diet it is good to mix it up , variation , and restful sleep will build and support you for vibrant good health. For my Mountain bike I look for Flats, Hills, and Grades, about seven different long and short tours all together, that offer variable challenges with easy riding as well .And example of Interval Mountain Biking would be the more difficult climb challenging the hill, and at the top, I would be winding or cooling down, and as I am coasting down the other side of the hill my body is in a well deserved rest and the whole process would repeat over again. This is moving your body the Interval Way.A lot of calories can be burned this way, plus you have a chance to enjoy the ,scenic natural beauty ,and is a good all around fantastic Weight Loss and conditioning program.

My land leg Interval Exercises are simple. I just walk, then Jog,then make a short Sprint, then reverse to a Jog and then into a walk and then repeat the procedure all over again. If you are just getting started you can first leave out the sprint part and work up to it .Set your own pace. You should try it some time as it really is a potent card work out for you ,but pace your self and work up to it. This is an all around Cardio Interval Body work out for your Heart Health.A lot of calories are burned off this way and it is a Fantastic Weight Loss protocol.

Yoga: Originating from India this incredible art of Mind and Body Movement is very beneficial to you in so many ways. Any person young or old can practice this wonderful ancient Art of Breathing,Meditation,Body Stretching,Balance,Resistance, and Flexibility.
I personally practice Yoga often every day or every second day with one day of rest per week. I cannot say enough about what Yoga can do for your Peace of Mind and Centered Body.
Yoga classes can be very affordable with good value and instruction on the resort island of Phuket Thailand. For example the class that I attend is good for a whole month twice a day at 1and a half hours per class morning and evening. My 2 professional Yoga instructors have over 2 decades of experience teaching Yoga between them and the price will definitely surprise you.I found a QualityYoga Class that is less than 0 USD per month per person, no kidding . This Yoga Experience is a best kept secret in Phuket Islands Yoga Community.

Gardening: Yes I enjoy my tropical permaculture garden of exotic edibles and ornamentals.
I do not use a sprinkler system , I do everything the old fashioned way with pails of water and lifting rocks and boulders to make my raised garden beds. Turning the soil over , and even turning my compost tumbler bin for a few rotations every day will give me a little exercise as well. This to me is one of the best ways to connect with Nature. At least half of my Breakfast with Barry Gourmet & Raw came from my garden. Many gardeners find it very empowering to be able to add their own garden greens and vegetables ,fruits and herbs to their meals.

My Outings with Lucky: Every person and family that has a Dog must find the time to walk their furry friend every day morning or evening . It is so important to your pet big or small. Either wise the dog will crap all over your property because they just do not have the same options as you and I do. Our dog needs the exercise as much as we do so include your dog in you’re moving your body training program every day and this is also a great way to get your best friend to bond with you more than ever. And what does this have to do with my Barry Gourmet moves his body photo you might think? Well, it has a lot of relevancy because it is not unusual that I share a little bit of my breakfast with Lucky my Dog . Yes, my High Enzyme whole plant based diet is also good for your dog as well.Just mix in the Fruits and Vegetables with the help of a blender and stir in some human grade meat proteins but I will get into this more in a future article.

Snorkeling with Lucky: Phuket Island has world class beaches , of more than 22 of them all offering something different for the water sports enthusiast. Five of them are just minutes driving from my home and are excellent for coral reef snorkeling with my Dog named Lucky, a 6 year old half Cocker Spaniel and Thai Dog breed. The ocean is like a glass plate of aqua marine in color and with good viability for 6 months of the year September through February. You can order a colorful plate of mixed fruits similar to my recipe photo above at some of these beach restaurants.
This is really a fun and healthy way for me to move my body . Lucky wheres a life jacket that has a rope attached to it and I where my protective garden gloves dawned in snorkel gear.
I know that Lucky is a very strong sporting gun dog with lots of endurance, and he will chase after anything that moves. So I position my self near the rocky shore line where all the craps live. Then the action starts when my dog starts pulling me through the water ,chasing after all those thousands of never can catch me craps, and my body becomes a human projectile missile beneath the surface ,as I hold on to the leash swimming between and over the corals and swimthroughs.
Ocean water is good natural therapy for the body as the chemistry of sea water is very close in chemical composition to human blood.

Working out with Lucky?Often on a nice sunny day I will walk Lucky to the park where the Monkey Bars are located.
I tether Lucky to a near by tree so that he cannot slobber all over me as I do my reps of resistance moves ,like push ups, chin ups, squats, and stretching in nature.

Exercising your Cells and your Lymph: Any person can do this, and it is very enjoyable and relaxing, not to mention lots of fun as well. Dry brushing your skin before a shower every day has many benefits for your skin, your immune system and your lymphatic system… A dry brush is made of natural fibers that can be bought in Health and Spa outlets. You can use a DHC Facial Brush and a regular body brush with a long wooden handle so that you can reach around to your back side. Your skin being the largest detoxing organ on your body needs to have regular maintenance for breathing , and regeneration. Its best to be in your birthday suite in the privacy of your bathroom before starting .Start from the souls of your feet and with short massaging strokes working the brush up your body towards your heart. Your lymph drainage works towards this pathway and the brushing will help with the drainage. Work from your fingers ,hands and arms on both sides toward your heart. A lot of your dead dry skin will be brushed off to allow the newer skin cells to replace the old ones and to tone the body. Start from the top of your head and dry brush down across your face and over your neck that contains a lot of lymph nodes towards your heart again. It is simple to do with practice and it is invigorating. You can expect noticeable results with in 5 months or longer with regular dry brushing.

Traditional Thai Massage:Phuket Island has many popular Spas and Wellness Retreats offering affordable Thai Massage. I have a Lymph Cleansing Thai massage at the club house where I live in Land and House Park for one hour once or twice a week. It only costs 300 Thai Baht or .00 USD that includes a foot bath, nice relaxing music, an expert masseuse working on your feet and a Certified trained ND Holistic Doctor working on the body part that ails you the most using hands on acupressure techniques, Chinese Thai Herbs ,topped with herbal tea.

Dry Sauna Spa: When your body temperature is slowly raised and maintained for about 15 minutes at this temperature ,your elimination organs including your skin ,start expelling water and stored toxins out of your body through sweating. Your skin pores will be open at this time so when you leave the sauna go straight to your shower room to blast a stream of jet Cold Water to wash off your sweat and to close your skin pores.(Hydrotherapy first brings the red blood cells to the surface using heat then with the cold water the oxygenated red blood cells are returned to your organs as your skin pores are closed. Again our luxury club house Sauna is very affordable at only 100 Thai Baht or .25 USD and you can use the facility more than one time in the same day at this price.

Important Note about Sauna:You are Dehydrating your body in the Sauna so it is vitally important to bring a large class jar of liquid to replace the water you are losing.
I like to take in a large mason jar filled with my different home made teas or juices to replace the water and electrolytes that I am losing.

Rebounding: You can buy any small trampoline or Rebounder at any sports store on Phuket Island for about 0 USD. I like to place my rebounder in the garden with sunshine and fresh air and start slowly bouncing my body up and down , then work up to a stronger tempo. Every cell in your body is getting a good work out and you just feel good after a session.

Well, that rounds out my Moving your Body protocol, and I am sure you can be creative in moving your own body in fun and natural ways that I may not have thought of yet?

How to Get Started?

We know that for some people just starting out , from living a sedentary life style of not moving their body for a long extended periods of time like many years it can be difficult. And on top of that they may be overweight or even Obese that compounds the problem of even wanting to move their body. Many years ago I used to be one of those people. How did I break out of these two lifestyle obstacles? And what advice can I offer to you if you are in this same situation?

First I need to make clear that no two people will be starting out at the same level of fitness, and the integrity of each persons health will be different. Plus every person will have their own particular reason ,or cause and affect ,and maybe even a traumatic life experience for making a positive change that almost forces the person to make a final decision to move their body. For me many years ago, that decision was made out of fear of living in continued symptomatic pain related to my obesity and living a much shortened lifespan.
My obese younger sister for example was give an ultimatum from her Doctor. "From looking at your blood tests, and physical evaluation you cannot expect to live much longer " and she was already on many weight related pharmaceutical drugs already.
My sister experienced the same life and death situation that I had, but on a different level of course ,and for many people unfortunately it takes this kind of wake up call to finally break out of the complacency mode that they are in ,and to finally take action to move that body. And to make it your new life style change, to be part of your daily schedule for better good health for the rest of your life. I am happy to say that my sister is now moving her body for 5 months now and I need to say that as each month goes by it just gets easier for her to achieve success , and I will explain how this works.

Hopefully you did not let your body go like I did or my sister did,and if that is the case then that is great . For you it may be less medical and more personal ,but I have to say even for people overweight it can be very personal as well. Normally a leaner person will be burning more calories more efficiently with a stronger metabolism ,than a person over weight can do.So a structured transition from you’re existing diet over to a Whole Food Plant Based Diet that includes some Raw Foods will be essential to kick start your metabolism.Raw Green leafy vegetables of all kinds every day is included in my life. I eat every kind of edible vegetable and fruit at home mostly to have control over my nutrition and not give my power away, to some other person or company. After a while you may feel how self empowering it can really be for you. Further more I do eat ground, whole, and sprouted nuts and seeds of every kind. I include all kinds of locally grown fresh herbs and spices that are Natures Secrets to firing up your metabolism for effective weight loss. Avocado and small amounts of wild fish from the sea is included.
I eat every kind of bean legume and lentil , and mostly non gluten sprouted or steamed grains on occasion.
I include Sea Weeds,Mushrooms dry and fresh Cultured fermented vegetables, broth, and herbal teas.
All my cold pressed oils of coconut, and olive are not used for cooking, they are used last for nutritional support and flavoring.
I use pure water, or a vegetable stock for my recipes only.
I eat a lot of melons as a snack by them selves .
I eat small portions of dairy Kefir or Yogurt ,a free range duck or hen egg, a free range hen or duck meat on occasion only.
I only consider organic whole food vitamin and mineral supplements ,such as Chlorella ,Spirulina,Bee pollen,Wheat Grass.
I will drink and enjoy organic red wine with my meal on occasion.
I eat when I am hungry only, and not just for the sake of eating.
I due on occasion include real whole dark chocolate in my desert recipes that I am pleased to share with you.
Also I am a big fan of fresh Coconut used often in my recipes. I Juice make smoothies, make home made fruit ice creams ,and invent all kinds of ways to present rainbow meals of Earths color for my culinary pleasures and good taste.
Hydrate your body with high water content perishable whole foods of variety is your secret weapon to effective weight loss and continued good health.

Diet alone will not work, so fitting a fun way to move your body into your busy schedule will give you the one two punch that is needed to succeed in your plan to lose that weight and to stay healthy.

Back then I went it alone and I do not recommend it to any person unless your determination and will is really that strong?
I would first find a person in your family , or social group of friends that you know has lost weight through diet and exercise,or some person that is already fit and healthy. I would suggest to include this person into your life as someone that could mentor you and help you to stay the course. When you start to include health minded people around you , it starts to get much easier for you than going it alone.Always stay up beat and never let the set backs of temporary weight gain stop you from achieving your goals.
Do what works for you, and please connect with Nature for your personal diet decisions, and fun sporting activities that make you feel good in the end.

“ The Raw Rainbow Color of Whole Foods contain all the bioavailable essential anti oxidants ,life giving Enzymes and Natural protective photo chemicals of Green Chlorophyl that the body needs for vibrant health .What color is cooked meat?”

Barry’s Gourmet Tips on fast and efficient food recipe preparations for Food Left Overs: (FLO)
Written by Barry Gourmet & Raw © Copyright October 16, 2011

Introduction to Recipe Food Left Overs: Food for Thought and practical ideas for the Environment & Protection of our Planet Earth!

Hopefully after reading through this article , you may look and think about foods differently then you have previously thought of ? And possible you may decide to implement some of these ideas that I will present to you in this writing?

I will demonstrate the relevancy of this photo of food left overs with the connection of our environment impacting planet Earth today.

In this special report I will show you how to increase your nutritional status and at the same time how to stretch your food bill to save you money. Tips that are practical and easy to do and cost effective for you. I will also demonstrate how our individual food choices and shopping habits create a direct effect on the health of our planet.

All of us are faced sooner or later with this dilemma ? What to do with all the left over food ?
We have many options hear good and bad and I will address many of them in this article.
Since every person has a different taste in foods ,with different shopping habits its fair to say that whats in my refrigerator and kitchen pantry shelves will not be the same as what you have stocked in yours .
So this recipe and the following ideas presented to you will be treated as just a guide to give you some thoughts about how to handle perishables ,and how to come up with your own ideas for individual recipes of your own in creating something from nothing with left overs. You may be surprised at all the options that you have at your disposal , no pun intended.

Recipe ideas that are fast and easy to make , just by working with left over foods that we all have to attend to eventually. Just think of all that accumulated biodegradable human food waste near the end of the fruit or vegetables natural expiry date ? We know that the good guys ,such as living produce foods , do not have a long shelf life so we tend to buy less of them and unfortunately many people will buy much more of the long shelf life packaged process dead foods, (Those are the bad guys)that line most of the grocery store shelves these days.

Subconsciously consumers may feel that by buying a lot of goods and foods in one go will save time money and gas in their vehicle but in reality it may not work out that way at all. Did you know that globally more pollution from world freight transportation ,and storage is produced more from purchasing imported food products than the pollution created from all the cars around the world put together.

So do not feel bad when driving to the store often to buy locally and in season produce ,and locally made processed foods of the country that you live in. Personally I think of most imports as almost a luxury item, with a dark side of the story to it that I will address with you in this writing.
Just do as I do if you can , and buy the imports less often as a last resort and in moderation to save money on your over all food bill .In regards to your health it is fact that all food imports will lose up to 40 percent of their nutritional value compared to your seasonal locally produced foods. Local foods will not be exposed to the same treatments imposed on imports such as Irradiation , Fumigation , Preservatives, and Genetically Modified Organisms, GMO. In addition much of the imported produce is harvested prematurely and picked way to early and un ripe, to make the long journey possible overseas.

So in essence when you support your local organic farmer like at farmers markets ,in purchasing whole plant based foods in the country that you live in ,even with the higher organic price tag on it ,in most cases you still will be saving more of your hard earned currency in the end and your food is cleaner safer and comparatively much higher in nutrition.

The fact is in many cases the processed imported foods are subsidized by the tax money of the country that the food is coming from to compete in price with the locally produced foods in many countries around the world today. But with the cost of packaging shipping storage, oil prices, and retail mark ups the imported food item will still cost you more at the till. It all adds up in the end.

Generally speaking Organic farming practices are more labor intensive and are not government tax payer subsidized in such a high degree as chemical agricultural factory farms. This will reflect on the higher price tag of organic produce , over their conventional chemical farm counter parts.

When you support your local organic farmer with your purchasing power you are making a strong statement that includes the following. (1)You are protecting the top soil , and all the biodiversity of that farms natural environment. (2)You are giving your self higher nutrition , with out the chemical residues found in conventional produce. (3)You are enriching your own garden with safe and clean composted top soil only possible from organically grown produce.(4)You are protecting natures heirloom seeds that unfortunately today are in peril of extinction over time brought on by the bio tech industry.

The one good thing that you can do with your locally produced fruits and vegetables and unfortunately most people don’t think about this to much today, is all the SEED SAVING opportunities that you have .I am not talking about saving seeds from your garden that most all websites are talking about even though you can do this as well ,if you are lucky enough to have enough garden space at your home. I am talking instead of a more direct approach to saving seeds that will add more free foods to your table at no extra cost to you. It just takes a little bit of your spare time to set things up is all that is required.

First it is important to purchase only Organically grown fruits and vegetables for seed saving for the following reasons. This is something they do not want you to know about, but it needs to be told as I believe all consumers have a right to know.

Science knows that plants in nature by design, are very capable of absorbing inorganic minerals through their extensive root systems , and converting the minerals into dietary bioavailable organic minerals starches, carbohydrates, plant enzymes ,cell fibers ,and the green chlorophyl, that would make up the cell walls of the plant through out the stalk , leaves and fruit ,flower and berries. This is the best way for us to get our mineral wealth of nutrition , directly through the plant kingdom and not directly from the ground up rocks or inorganic mineral beds. The Bio Tech industry uses this plant delivery system to gage and to record how much of their chemical pesticide or chemical used to make the plant more pest resistant is taken up through the plants root systems. In other words how much of the pesticide or chemical is the plant absorbing systemically? Most people are under the false impression that the conventionally grown plant only has a residue of chemical that just takes a through rinse and bath to wash off the residues, but this is not true at all. Systemic means that the chemical used is actually absorbed via the plants root systems including the plants cell wall internal parts of the whole plant . So this means that the pesticide toxin becomes actually part of the plant. This is the part that you are not suppose to know, so that said it is always better to buy locally and Organic for your own health
and safety. It is believed by many that systemic insecticides, which poison pollen and nectar in the flowers, may kill bees and other needed pollinators.
With out beneficial insect pollinators like honey bees, butterflies and the like , our fruits and vegetables will not get crossed pollinated like nature intended.
There is a serious shift in world pesticide use from America to developing countries. Currently seventy five percent of all pesticides in the world are now used in developing countries and the use is increasing annually. Of course we know that much of this food is exported back to the US consumer market place.
The problem with agricultural pesticide use is the insidious cycle of the pests built in resistance and ability to mutate , forcing the chemical manufactures to develop even stronger chemicals that on average only has the efficacy of exterminating 2% of the target pest. The whole sale application of these synthetic chemicals take a heavy toll with wind drift, and leaching into our water supply, and assimilating into the fatty tissues of our conventional live stock.
With the lions share of pesticides being used today out side of the United States its really amazing that the Human Health and Environmental cost from pesticide use is a staggering 9.06 Billion US Dollars per year. This is the harm done by agricultural pesticides when broken down into categories reported annually that should raise a few eye brows.

Public Health cost .1 Billion
Pesticide resistance in pests .5 Billion
Crop losses caused by pesticide use 1. 4 Billion
Bird death due to pesticides .2 Billion
Ground Water contamination $ 2.0 Billion
Other associated costs $ 1.4 Billion
Grand total annual cost to the US economy .06 Billion US Dollars

That said if there is any good news to all of this , it is a fact today that the Organic movement in the US is one of the fastest growing sectors with sales increasing substantially every year so people are starting to become informed of their food choices and I find this trend very encouraging for these people.

But still we have a long way to go because globally we are self poisoning our selves , our environment, wild life and its habitat when we as consumers support chemically treated produce. I am not suggesting that we run from our whole living foods to embrace the packaged processed foods ,no way that is the last thing that you should do .
The best thing for your health is to stay on a plant based diet and support your local Organic farmer as much as possible and to save the seeds for sprouting and for planting in your garden. The next best thing is to make a transition over and adapt to a plant based diet even if it includes conventionally sprayed produce . And third stay away from packaged commercially processed foods as much as possible . I am not painting a broad brush across the processes food industry as I do buy a few selected products that are actually healthy and good for you and you can find them in some of my recipes. I plan in the near future to give you my secret short list of processed foods that will help reverse heart disease, increase your metabolism to lose weight, help you with cancer prevention, and to give you many more health benefits that you can utilize in your health program.

Reference wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pesticide

"For the preservation and protection of our planet earth , our food choices do make a difference"

Barry Gourmet & Raw

And secondly another thing that we are not suppose to know, is the way our foods are treated in overseas retail markets between the more affluent agricultural chemical corporations and much of the third worlds agricultural base. Basically over the years the US Environmental Protection Agency EPA ,has been doing a good job banning many hazardous chemicals from the American market place for public safety which I agree is a good thing. But with all this banned chemical inventory , the manufactures cannot just cut their loses and start over, that would be completely unacceptable to them. So instead they ship all their banned agricultural pesticide chemicals to less developed third world countries for cash crops that in turn are to be exported back to the United States consumer for consumption of their own banned chemical pesticide product that effectively skirts around the EPA,s banned loop hole imposed inside the United States.

One good example , and I am sure that many of the coffee lovers out there will just not want to know about this. But disclosing this information is important for our health and I believe all consumers have a right to know !

According to reports that I read from MSN Health Canada, and the Rodale Organic Institute based in the USA research studies show that the number one imported cash crop for EPA banned chemical pesticide use is you guest it Coffee. Yes coffee crops overseas are sprayed with known toxins that are on the banned chemical list in the USA. And yes they are carcinogenic and take a serious public health toll on people that do not take care of themselves.Studies conclude that Cancer is preventable in most cases.
I know this because I have lived and worked in many third world countries over the years ,especially in the Asian region and I have read several times in the countries newspapers about banned imported agricultural chemicals being found on local produce that should have been used for the export market place instead.

So given the facts , it would be in your best health interest to purchase and drink Organically grown coffee only, even at the higher price tag.It is not cheap for the third world farmer to convert and to make a transition over to organic when the field is by law required to lay fallow and unproductive for 3 years before commencement of organic farm seeding and planting to obtain the Certified Organic label. In Thailand where I live you can enjoy organically grown coffee grown in the hills in the countries northern Chiang Mai province produced by the indigenous hill tribes people that historically grew poppies for the golden triangles drug trade years ago.
I have included for you a free PDF down load that shows the extent of how far a third world country will go to get it right for effective application of chemical pesticides.

Barry’s Gourmet Photo Food Left Overs Ingredients & Method:

First before I start listing the ingredients in this photo it is very important to note that for me the best way to utilize all the perishable vegetables is to make a plan of how you would treat and section them in a tasty and pleasing way.

I like to present the meal as a salad a soup or stew, a raw pudding or dip, and a beverage of tea, broth, or juice so I have options to work with .

In the photo I chose to present a salad ,stew, raw pudding dip, with a broth beverage.

STEW INGREDIENTS :Assortment of root vegetables like carrot ,beat, and turnip.
Legumes such as string bean, sprouted mung and garbanzo (chickpeas)
Some Brown Rice or sprouted wheat berries on hand.
Some cherrie tomato.

SOUP CONDIMENTS for natural flavoring : Dry onion and garlic ,& ground pepper.
I always keep a liquid broth of Shiitake Mushrooms in glass stored in my refrigerator.
Easy to make the soup broth by adding a few dry mushroom caps to a glass jar , fill with pure water seal it securely with the lid and store in the refrigerator. It keeps for a very long time many days as I continue to add water as needed.
For that salty taste for any of the salt lovers out there I use SOLE WATER.
Easy to make just take a pink ( they may be any color) piece of Himalayan Sea Salt crystal ,place it in a glass jar and let the mineral dissolve into the water . Of course different batches will have different salt concentrations so experiment for the taste that you are looking for .
Your other option is granulated sea salt as well. For your health all inorganic salt products should be used sparingly and in moderation only, and I will explained why this matters and address this point in this writing .

VEGETABLE STEW METHOD: Pour in your Mushroom broth ,and add to your liking, dry onion, garlic, and ground pepper. Optional for some people who like it hot and spicy like I do then add some Thai Chili Powder.
then taste the broth as it is heating and then start to make your adjustments. Add some Sole water or sea salt and taste , and if you want it sweeter just add some raw honey or maybe some savory tamarind juice? Tamarind is a long lumpy thin soft but firm thin fruit with a brown shell that can be easily broken with a knife and fingers. The fruit grows in South East Asia and is used in many Thai recipes. Asian stores also sell the raw fruit in different size packages. To make the juice or the sauce is really simple ,just put some in a glass jar ,fill it with pure water , mix it or you can even blend it and store this wonderful condiment in your refrigerator ,it keeps for days. Tamarind sauce or juice is delicious and I use it in all kinds of ways to get that natural sweet sour and tart taste in my foods. If you like the broth more spicy you can add a pinch of Thai Red Chili powder and for curry lovers you could try a bit of curry powder as well. You see how flexible I am with you ? Because not every one will have the same taste in food and really all our taste buds are different even if its subtle. When it comes to food one size does not fit all. Add all your root When your broth finally passes your personal taste test then add all your root vegetables to the broth and let cook on low medium heat do not over cook.
I like my root vegetables a bit soft on the outside but a bit crunchy on the inside ,and make sure before hand that all the pieces are as much as possible the same size for even flavor through out.

SALAD MIX: Any salad greens will do. Including an assortment of leafy greens, celery, fresh green herbs and even a few berries can be used in the salad. Some red bell pepper , a few nuts and any seed that is near by. You can even use presoaked dry fruits in your salad . You see there are no set rules hear , nothing is carved in stone ! You are the Gourmet of your kitchen , and that is the way I like to present many of my recipes to you, so that you can come up with your own creations using my recipe ideas as guides. I do not believe in paint by number recipes , I think creative culinary spontaneity that has surprises along the way ,including the finished main dish is the way to go. But that is just me!

PROTEIN POWDER TOPPING: Seed is better digested when it is Dry Milled to absorb all the essential oils and unsaturated fats.
A good method is to use a dry mill cup that comes with all high quality glass blenders.
Just place the cup on top of the blender unit ,pour in your selected whole dry seeds at any mix that you desire, such as black and white sesame, flax, chia, pumpkin, even a little bit of bee pollen
granules will give some savory sweetness to this protein powder.
Cover with the lid ,turn on the blender and in no time at all you have a very powerful home made protein powder that you can use to sprinkle on your stew and salad.

VINIGARETE :For your tossed salad. For most people a raw salad needs some kind of dressing.
Tip: Sometimes I save and old back some of my smoothie to use as a quick dressing to dress up my food left overs.
For the vinaigrette its fast and simple: One teaspoon of each of the following. Cold pressed Apple Cider Vinegar, fresh Lime or lemon juice, and Raw unfiltered Honey. Optional one grated raw garlic clove. Mix together in a bowl and toss your salad .Then sprinkle your protein powder over top.

Recipe Tip from Barry Gourmet & Raw: Its always easier to get the taste of the broth right first then add the vegetables later ,then to be wrestling with the vegetables in the sauce pan to get the taste right. Also not all the ingredients have to be left over foods , you should and can add some fresh ones into the mix as well.

Turn of the heat and let the flavor of the vegetables steep into the broth for 5 minutes.
Put some boiling water on the stove.
Now strain the liquid broth from the vegetables in your sauce pan into a cup to make your broth beverage and what is left over is your stew.

BARRY’S GOURMET VEGETABLE DIP: While that is going on you can make a simple raw dip or pudding like this!
Take that whole Avocado and de skin it ,discard the pit and with a spoon add the green flesh to your mixing bowl. Add a table spoon of any one of the oils that happen to be in reach and is available to you. Cold pressed Virgin Olive Oil. Cold pressed Coconut Oil, or Cold pressed Flax Seed Oil all organic as much as possible stored in glass or metal.

Mix the oil in and add the following ingredients to taste .Some diced tomatoes, grated garlic, lemon or lime juice,a little bit of raw unfiltered honey , ground pepper and sea salt.
Mix well and put aside.
For a vegetable topping I decided to use fresh broccoli florets , so I cut a few of the flower parts off and placed them in previously boiled water to blanch them. Then I pour a bit of Kikoman Soy Sauce on a plate, then mix in some Wasabi or Mustard powder and with tongs take each broccoli
vegetable out and swish the florets around the dish to cover with the hot and salty sauce . I turn them over and stick them in the my avocado dip and sprinkled with savory bee pollen.

How to share your Left Overs with your Friend for Two?

Of course you may not be alone in the kitchen when all this stuff is going on , and life is all about sharing isn’t it?
An extension of your family will most likely be close by to help you with all this.
Some times we have 2 mouths to feed and your furry friend could be right there johnny on the spot to help you with your left overs.
I am talking about your dog of course !
This is a great opportunity to clean house and to , bond with mans best friend.
Dogs are true omnivores (eating meat and plant ) and Cats are more carnivore (eating mostly meat) so the cat is out of luck this time.

To make a fast and nutritious dog meal for your furry friend just do the following.
Put some of your leafy greens in your blender and if you have some soaked seaweed of any kind stored in your refrigerator add some of that as well .( Seaweed is chalk full of bioavailable minerals and vitamins that you may not find enough in commercial dry dog kibble so go for it.)
Seaweed is a Super Food for both humans and dogs , and this sea vegetable is woefully missing in modern day agriculture. Seaweed is a rich source of the essential trace mineral iodine that is in abundance in this sea vegetable about 5 times more than milk has, with out all the saturated fat.
The essential trace mineral selenium and iodine support each other working together in the body as co factors so it is important to consume foods rich in selenium and iodine together. For example just 2 Brazil nuts a day would provide you more than your RDA of the mineral selenium.
Iodine regulates hormones that are produced by your thyroid gland located in your neck area. Today iodine is put in all of our iodized (sodium chloride) table salt and many processed foods.
But now with the high sodium salt intake in the western diet , more cases of hypertension ,heart disease is on the rise. Seaweed is also high in the mineral sodium with the iodine ,but its organically produced in nature with out the detrimental health effects of the manufactured processed inorganic table salts. Consuming more seaweed of all varieties will help regulate your metabolism ,to help you to all that excess body weight. Seaweed is high in all minerals to support heart health ,where iodized table salt is proven to do just the opposite. With some research we have informed choices that we can make in our lives.

Add some water and blend. The reason that I blend the vegetables for my dog and not serve them chopped is simple. Dogs do not chew their food, like humans can,the canine will bite down and swallow everything whole for digestion to occur in the stomach. Basically a dog drinks and swallows and no chewing of food. And the other reason is many dogs including my own is clever enough to eat around the vegetables to get to the meat first just to leave you with a bowl of uneaten vegetables to clean up.
By contrast humans start with digestion in the mouth to break down complex carbohydrates with the the enzyme amylase , allowing us to chew side to side using the flat molars of our teeth to further break proteins and carbs down producing a food product called chime that finally gets swallowed. This is how we are suppose to eat but today with our busy fast paste life with no time to spare we are starting to eat just like our furry friend does, and this is when we start to get into trouble with our health.
Pour the smoothie into the the dog bowl then sprinkle in some of your seed protein powder and mix it well to form a very nutritious gravy for your dog.
I am sure that we can agree that our dogs protein requirements are much greater than our own, and this is one reason why my dog eats quality proteins from human grade meats and not the carbohydrates and low quality proteins you find in commercially processed dry dog kibble.
Many humans take better care of themselves much more than their own pet and vise versa.
A pet is an extension of our family and all of us should research and find out the truth regarding the politics of food, the business side of food, and the truth about the nutrition of food that goes into our body and even into our pet every day.

I cannot fit all the reasons why I don’t feed commercial Dry Dog kibble to my furry friend named Lucky into this article so I am giving you a link here to find out for yourself to give you more information on the subject at.

Stored in the refrigerator I select any one of my previously frozen home made meat packets.
Originally the meat was steamed or boiled. A meat packet could have ingredients like,
Chicken, Liver, Beef, Pork, Duck, Lamb, all mixed with the broth.

If any dog owner is concerned about any cooked bones causing trouble inside the animals larynx or stomach cavity all I can say is my own dog of 7 years never has a problem with this, and did you know that a dogs powerful stomach acids do actually dissolve bones raw or cooked.

Add and stir in your selected meats to your dog bowl and serve. Final note for finicky dogs.
If you are starting out for the first time to help your dog make the transition from devitalized process dry dog foods over to real natures made home made pet food then do it gradually over time.
Dogs are no different than humans when it comes to diet and nutritional changes.
Feed often your human grade meats first using your hand and lead the dog to their bowl and in time your dog will be less finicky with the new natural foods.

From the photo presentation of left over foods I only gave my dog the salad greens and the milled protein powder only. The reason is simple as certain human foods are very dangerous for us to
feed to them and this is why I did not share my root vegetables, avocado and broth that has onions in it. I have a comprehensive food list of what all the human foods that a dog should not eat at the following site at www.flickr.com/photos/54619340@N07/
Just scroll down to the photo that says Barry,s Asian Salmon

I hope that you now see food differently than before , and that you are now thinking about your available options for protection of your good health, and for your pet as well, and for the nutritional support that you can provide for your vibrant good health.

“ Nature does not care what we think, what we do with our lives, or how much money it can get from us .Nature is there for us to connect with and to enjoy her gift of seed baring foods ,to work with her sustainably, she has been around a lot longer then we have,Earth Matters.’"

This is a video on how i built my two raised garden beds in my back yard. The beds are 16 inches deep by 8 feet long and 4 feet wide. The materials used were pressure treated 2x10x 8ft boards held together by galvenized nails and deck screws. The project took about 4 hours all together including the trip to the hardware store. This video will be the first in a series where I share my trials in raising a first year garden.
Video Rating: 5 / 5
