@johnandrewdaly Nice to hear from you. We do have an owner in Nanton, AB that is about an hour away, but we haven’t been in touch with him recently. I’ll send you a message with our contact info so we can get in touch and keep you posted as to if a visit is possible. In the meantime, any questions you have, I’m glad to answer. All the best, Stacey Couch, Growing Spaces Staff
Hi there,
Thank you, folks, for your hard work, I am in Calgary, Alberta and looking to visit a functional model in the area. Are they any around me I could visit?
Monsanto says no!
I dont understand the dislike!!!!
@prancingdog We plant at different heights in our Growing Dome. For instance, we have the low growing crops such as lettuce, beets, and radish close to the ground. Then we have an intermediate height series of crops such as tomatoes, artichoke, beans and cucumbers. Then, higher up we have our fruit trees and grape vines. As the polycarbonate glazing diffuses the light very well and the dome shape allows even light input as the sun tracks across the sky, we have never had a problem with shading
Mine sucks. It doesn’t allow for a very efficient layout because you can’t stager the plants into height rows so that taller plants don’t shadow the shorter ones. If I didn’t use external mirrors to redirect sunlight, many of the plants I have in mine would do poorly. I would suggest a more traditional row design with flat insulated northern sides, and sloped southern side would be easier to work with, and even expand.
The Dome is not efficient for plantings.
@Xhell420 There is a page on our website that addresses overheating
To can access it by typing in Cooling the Solar Greenhouse in the search box on our home pageor you can call and chat with us about it
@udgarparsons Quite the contrary, there is too much sun and gets way too hot.
@Xhell420 Would you mind sharing where your growing dome is located? In some areas, cloudy or shaded, things can be a bit more challenging since the growing domes rely so on solar power. You can also call 800-753-9333 so we can help troubleshoot. We are committed to supporting customers and seeing them succeed.
still havent really gotten ours to work efficiently yet…
Might be fun to just live in there
Not necessary to have raised beds, but most people do.
What with bad knees and bad backs,a lot of more mature gardeners prefer them. Also it is good to have the pathways defined
I have a 22 ft with a large center bed which cant be all reached from the path way, so I have a couple of flagstones to step on when I need to access that part of the bed
do you have to have raised beds?
nice
I sure love mine
i go in there every day to say hi to the plants and the fishmy fig trees are stating to swell their buds
Exciting
The bees are ecstatic
I HAVE TO HAVE ONE. PERIOD.

I know they say that if you have to ask ,you can’t afford it ;but how much?
Great job, both with the dome, family and the video… aloha
It’s creative stuff like this that drives me on….The 1000 gallon pond is a great, beautiful way to get thermal mass… to make it warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer! What a blessing it would/could be if this “kind” of thinking caught on?! Hmmm?
Yes indeed, I love to hang out in my dome.
Have to have the brightness turned up on the tv, though

I live in the Chicago land area and I would love to have one of these. The winters are so brutal, that I just day dream of having some sort of tropical environment I can escape to for a couple hours a day. Having a 51ft version of this would be worth every penny to me.
Although mine would have to have a lounging space where I could sit on a lazy boy couch and watch a football game while surrounded by tropical plants and water fountains.
