This is my Grandparent’s Garden, i’d popped over to wish my Granddad a happy birthday, and it had co-incided with their village’s garden open-day in support of the NSPCC charity, so thought i’d take a couple of photos of it.
This is all largely my Grandad’s handywork, who’s a keen gardener.
Wish i could get my lawn as good as his – it’s amazing.
Note the cloudy skies – this summer has been a bit of a wash-out in the UK for the last month

Delgosha Garden :
In southern entrance of Tang-e-Sadi in Shiraz, and beneath Nodar castle, there is a large garden, which is known as Delgosha. The garden is composed of a very large ground area located alongside the Boustan avenue which leads to the tomb of Sa`di. The walls of the garden is made of mud but the entrance portel is made of clay brick.
From the entrance of the garden to the building, which is located in the center of the garden, there is a waterfont and a cement street. Four streets have been constructed round the building leding to the walls of the garden.
On the sids of some of these streets there are cypress and pine trees. Orange, palm and walnut trees have been planted in other parts of the garden. There is a large pond right in front of the building.
This building has been erected on a platform and the lower part of the walls is covered with plain stone. The building inside the garden comes in three stories and the portal is decorated with glaze tiling. The doors of some of the rooms are quite old.
There is an octagonal structure on the first floor in the center of which is located a pond covered with blue tiles.
The ceiling of the building is a simple dome in the middle of which there is a vent. There are four royal rooms with four angels on the sides of the octagonal structure.
باغ دلگشا
در دروازه جنوبی آرامگاه سعدی در شیراز و پایین تراز قلعه نادر, باغی بزرگ قرار دارد که به دلگشا معروف است. این باغ از تعدادی زمین وسیع تشکیل شده که در حاشیه خیابان بوستان واقع شده اند و به مقبره سعدی راه دارند. جنس دیوارهای باغ از گل ومدخل ورودی از آجر است . از دروازه ورودی باغ تا ساختمان که در مرکز آن قرار گرفته , یک آب نما و یک خیابان سیمانی وجود دارد . چهار خیابان بدین گونه در اطراف ساختمان ساخته شده اند که به دیوارهای باغ ختم می گردند. در کنار برخی از این خیابانها , درختان سرو و کاج به چشم می خورند ودر قسمتهای دیگر باغ نیز درختهای پرتقال , نخل و گردو کاشته اند. این بنارا بر روی یک سکو ساخته اند و قسمت پایین تر دیوارها را با سنگ صاف ومسطح پوشانیده اند. این بنا دارای 3 طبقه می باشد و ایوان آن با کاشی کاریهای براق تزیین گردیده است. درهای برخی از اتاقها بسیار قدیمی هستند. درطبقه اول یک حوض هشت وجهی قرار دارد که دارای کاشی کاریهای آبی است. سقف ساختمان یک گنبد ساده است و در محل دریچه هوا قرار دارد . دراین بنا چهار اتاق سلطنتی نیز وجود دارد .
