Question by bEnj: About my hamsters.. my mom… please answer.. i would really appreciate it.?
okay so my dwarf hamsters are in my brother’s room, but this morning my mom (i have no idea what came in her mind), who deosnt really like hamsters told me that i should take the hamsters out of the room cause she thinks my hammies make the room all smelly, and she said to take it outside to the terrace, and we all know that a terrace receives rain and sunlight(esp right now because of climate abnormalities) and i know that temp changes can stress a hamster.. what should i do? i explained everything i’ve researched to her, but she just doesnt care,, she did mention building a shelter but she didnt specify what? what would you suggest? a wooden arch? or maybe cover a portion of the terrace with curtains or maybe a little greenhouse type shelter? other than shelter, how do i protect my hamster? another problem is with ants. i cant stop the ants! how do i stop them from comming to my hammie’s cage? we dont have other pets though and the terrace is enclosed and its on the third floor so the only opening is the door that leads to my brother’s room.

summary
1. what type of shelter is best for protecting hamsters outdoors?
2. other ways to protect my hammies?
3. how to stop ants.

:: i went to the agrivet store and asked for hamster vitamins,, they showed me the only one they have for small animals.. its a vitamin drop that has a picture of a rabbit on the cover.. so basically its for rabbits.. but there are also pictures of hamsters, guinea pigs and gerbils around.. is it okay? i think the medicine provides calcium, vitamins and extra minerals.. should i get this for my hamster?
lol. i live in the Philippines.. its tropical but due to climate change its a bit weird right now.. and mom is a very nice person… but she really hates pets.. she’d only pay attention to our pets if we had fishes. other than that. she hates pets.. but because she loves us. she at least agreed to get us hamsters.. but.. like how many percent out of a hundred is it okay for hamsters to be put in that kind of place?

well you could for the moment lend your pet to a close and trustworthy friend until you have an agreement with your mother or maybe when you make a temporary/permanent home for you pet. It can buy you more time and give you less things to worry about.
