Do they normally need a pond?
They are quite pretty,but they’re costing me a fortune in bird food !

If you are feeding them, they are apt to visit very often after their pond thaws..
Gallinules (Moorhen) are migratory and leave at somepoint.
They will return to their pond when the breeding season starts as they nest in the same places every year, normally. They know you are a soft touch for food, so may keep visiting you Lol.
